seasoned edamame

Spicy beans in my mouth leaves me licking my lips. When you go to a Japanese restaurant, you can order these, but they are so simple, you can make them quickly at home and enjoy for a small fraction of the cost.

  • 2 cups fresh edamame in shell

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil (you can use a hot chili oil)

  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, powdered

  • 4 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce

  • sriacha

Heat oil over medium high heat and toss in the edamame, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 2 minutes moving almost constantly so as not to burn the garlic. Test a bean to see if it is warmed through. If so, add your soy sauce and stir around for 30 seconds. Squirt your desired amount of sriacha or chili paste and stir till dispersed evenly. Toss in a bowl and eat. You'll find yourself licking your lips and fingers too.
